The
Rules for arbitration under the auspices of
the Centre are the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules of 1976 with certain
modifications and adaptations. The Centre offers facilities and
assistance for the conduct of arbitral proceedings, including the
enforcement of awards made in the proceedings held under the
auspices of the Centre. Awards are rendered within six months of the
Arbitral Tribunal's receipt of the Respondent's Statement of Defence
or Counter Claim.
Parties are free
to choose their own arbitrators in the manner indicated in the
UNCITRAL Rules but they may also request that the Centre appoint
arbitrators. The Centre maintains an international panel of
experienced arbitrators for this purpose. The
costs of
arbitration at the Centre include administrative charges as well as
the fees of arbitrators. Parties who wish to use the Centre's
arbitration services and facilities should make a
written request
to the Director of the Centre. |
